Dr Alexander Yao is a Melbourne-based specialist endocrinologist with a passion for empowering patients through holistic, patient-centred healthcare.
Dr Yao completed his medical degree at the University of Melbourne followed by specialist endocrinology training across leading metropolitan hospitals including Royal Melbourne Hospital, Austin Hospital and Monash Health.
He has broad clinical interests in all aspects of endocrinology, including type 1 and type 2 diabetes, weight control, lipid disorders, thyroid disorders, osteoporosis, men’s health, women’s health, obstetric endocrine disorders, adrenal and pituitary disorders. He is a member of the Royal Australian College of Physicians, Australian Diabetes Society, and Endocrine Society of Australia.
Dr Yao is fluent in English, Cantonese and speaks basic Mandarin.
